We have the perfect mix for your day in port.  Our Livorno Shore Excursion to Florence & Pisa gives you a chance to visit two amazing cities during your day. The excursion is led by an expert English speaking driver guide whom will help to create a personalized experience while taking into account your specific interests. This incredible service enable you to tour with a native Italian guide showing you the real face of the area you are visiting. The tours are available in English or Italian, and are delivered with an insight and style that keeps our tours entertaining, fun, and informative.

Tour Description:

Our excellent English speaking driver will pick you up right at your ship and transfer you to Florence sharing with you the history of the local area in a fun informative way.  Florence is world renowned as the birthplace of Renaissance art, history, and architecture, and thanks to Dante, the Italian language as well.  On this overview of Florence you will see some of the major highlights of Florence including the panoramic view of the city from Piazzale Michelangelo, the main square of Piazza della Signoria, the main cathedral and the church of Santa Croce, the burial place of Michelangelo, Galileo and a host of other famous Florentines.

There is also time for the Leather School of Florence, started by the Franciscan monks, jewelry shopping on the Ponte Vecchio and a visit to the Accademia Museum where we will be sure to make an advance reservation so that you can skip the line to see the David by Michelangelo. Our driver will be available to your party for the entire day and will will give you general historical information of each site in Florence but as parking and driving restrictions are quite high in the center so he will not accompany you into the sites. Rather, he will give you the information and allow you time to explore the sites you wish to visit.

After some time to explore the city by yourself, we will provide time for lunch and the driver will give you some great suggestions for a trattoria with authentic cuisine based on your tastes and budget. There will be also the possibility to do some shopping at your leisure depending on the pace of your party.

After lunch it is time to depart for Pisa. The driver guide will again be happy to give you a general introduction to the city and the Piazza you will explore before dropping you off in Santa Maria dei Miracoli where you will be able to explore the Cathedral and the Tower at your leisure. You can visit the leaning Tower of Pisa, with or without entry, and we will want to know what you plan to do as we do not arrange these tickets, but rather it will be up to you to secure them at a time we suggest. With a 4:15pm departure to Livorno you can expect to arrive by about 5:30.

*In Florence there are very high restrictions for parking in the center and it is much harder to park as compared to Rome so the driver guide is not easily able to leave the van.  For this reason, we suggest combining the driver guided service with a walking guide of 2.5 hours in Florence. If you want the walking tour please choose the option with a walking tour from the menu.



Additional Information To Note:

• IF YOUR SHORE EXCURSION IS ON MONDAY PLEASE BE AWARE THAT MUSEUMS ARE CLOSED SO ACCADEMIA AND UFFIZI WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON THE TOUR.

• This tour starts from the port of Livorno at 8:00am.
• The approximate length of the day is 9 to 9.5 hours.
• Because you have chosen an excursion with Florence it will be assumed that you will want to see the David at the Accademia and so we will automatically make a reservation for you. If you do not wish to visit the Accademia please let us know in advance so that we do not make the reservation.
• Please note that the museums are closed on Mondays and the Duomo is closed for part of the day on Sunday.
• Some other sights may have a small admission fee that can be paid on the spot.  Tickets cannot be purchased with credit cards.
• Santa Croce admission is 6 Euros per person and there is a family discount that means only the parents pay. The church is closed on Sunday mornings.
• We do not climb the dome during this tour.
• If you want to climb the Leaning Tower, the tickets must be arranged by you about a month to three weeks before your tour date based on when dates are released.  We are not able to make this particular reservation for you. The best time to schedule the climb up the tower on this day trip is generally 3:30pm. We will let you know if otherwise, please check with us if you are unsure. • Lunches, headsets, admission fees and gratuities are not included in the price of the tour.
• Please note it is prohibited to bring backpacks, camping or other bulky bags or luggage / trollies. You are allowed to enter with medium and small size backpacks carried on a shoulder which must be checked by metal detectors and/or opened and visually inspected before entering.

Accademia Ticket Information:

• IF YOUR SHORE EXCURSION IS ON MONDAY PLEASE BE AWARE THAT MUSEUMS ARE CLOSED SO ACCADEMIA AND UFFIZI WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON THE TOUR.
• Miles&Miles will make a reservation for your tickets and they are to be paid upon entry.
• You will skip the general admission lines with this reservation, but you will still need to go through security upon entry and this cannot be skipped by anyone, for any reason.
• Admission Prices:
  • 20.00 Euros per adult 18+ (includes reservation fee)
  • 4.00 Euros per youth 6-17 (only pay the reservation fee)
  • Children 0-5 are free (reservation not needed, but we do ask that you let us know if there is anyone 5 and under)
• The cost of tickets is not included in the cost of the tour.   
• The reservation fee of 4.00 Euros is non-refundable even if you do not enter the Accademia.

Departure time from the port: 8:00am

Return to the port: Arriving around 5:30pm
