You can also add additional time at an hourly rate by contacting the office.
Hadrian’s Villa and Villa d’Este
Hadrian's Villa was an immense Roman villa complex near Tivoli, Italy, built by Emperor Hadrian between 118 and 138 A.D.. It served as a retreat from the capital and was designed to mimic places the emperor admired during his travels, featuring palaces, baths, temples, and gardens spread over 120 hectares. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is considered an exceptional example of Roman architecture, blending Greek, Roman, and Egyptian influences.
Villa d'Este is a 16th-century Renaissance villa in Tivoli, Italy, famous for its spectacular Italian Renaissance gardens with numerous fountains, water features, and terraces. Commissioned by Cardinal Ippolito II d'Este, it is a masterpiece of Italian garden art and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its innovative design and historical significance. The complex is considered a great feat of engineering, as it uses natural water pressure to power the water games throughout the grounds.
You will have time to explore each of these amazing sites on your own for around 90 minutes each. Afterwords, our lunch recommendation would be a stop at Antico Ristorante Sibilla (our driver is happy to give restaurant suggestions based on your tastes and budget) after the visits and depending on your start time. Here you will have the most amazing views from the terrace garden looking over the deep gorge of the Aniene River and the circular Roman Temple of Vesta with the Sanctuary of the Sybil built beside it.
