What You'll do in this tour

Touring Rome with a Golf cart is an excellent way to explore Rome. From the awe-inspiring ruins of Ancient Rome to the cozy charm of its hidden alleys, the tour will let you soak in the beauty, history and atmosphere of the Eternal City. This type of tour is a popular option for those looking to discover Rome’s beauty up close and personal while avoiding long walks because after all, Rome is quite large.

Your tour will start with a hotel pickup to ensure a smooth and relaxing beginning to the adventure. Your driver guide will discuss the itinerary with you to make sure that he or she understands your main priorities. We always try to gear your tour and your day around what interests you the most as long as your request is in line with this type of tour.

A stop at the Colosseum is a must for history lovers and photographers! Walking around the exterior of such a significant site you can’t help but feel immersed in over 2000 years of history. Next stop is The Baths of Caracalla built in the III century AD it is of the largest and most impressive thermal structures built in Ancient Rome. As the tour continues the crowds start to diminish and each corner is perfect for a photo or a painting.

The Roman city walls built by Emperor Aureliano between 271-275 AD are accessible for a visit and if you like, you can even climb one of the towers. Back on the road we will drive on the Old Appian Way which dates back to 312 B.C. This is indeed the oldest paved road in the world. When you walk on it remember to take a moment to realize that this is exactly where the ancient Roman troops used to march as they left or returned from war. Here is also where many criminals met their fate when they would be crucified on the side of the Appian Way in order to set an example of what would happen if you went against the rules of Rome.

In our final stop we arrive to the Catacombs where you will spend approximately 45 minutes exploring the tunnels. The Catacombs were first created as quarries for tufo then later converted into cemeteries for the ancient Roman people because burial within the city walls was not allowed. Don’t worry, we will save time for a nice cappuccino and a bathroom break along the route. After the catacombs we will again pass through the ancient walls and another ancient road known as “Via Latina” before you arrive back at your hotel with enriched knowledge of the history of Ancient Rome.

Catcacomb tickets are not included in the cost of the tour (approx 10€) and can be purchased on site
