Our tour starts from the exit of your ship in Civitavecchia where one of our driver guides will be waiting, bearing a sign with your name, ready to escort you into the city. After your tours our driver guide will return you to your ship in plenty of time for your departure.
On this tour you will have the convenience of transportation the entire day and your driver guide will cover the major highlights of Rome both inside and outside of the city walls for a more in depth view of Rome. The tours are led by expert English speaking driver guides who will help to create a personalized experience while taking into account your specific interests.

Choose this shore excursion option when you would like to do a driver guided tour for the day (without a walking tour) to have a very comprehensive overview of the city and be able to see as many sites as possible. This is also a great option if the Vatican is closed on your day in Rome and if you do not wish to tour the Ancient Rome sites with a walking guide or it is the first Sunday of the month. This shore excursion option includes transfers to and from the port as your driver guide will be with you the full day.
Tour Description:
Our tour starts from the exit of your ship in Civitavecchia where one of our driver guides will have a sign bearing your name waiting to tour you through the city in our comfortable, air conditioned van. Enjoy the scenic drive from the port in style as you view the countryside on your way into Rome. Once you arrive you will begin an action-packed seven hour tour of the city which includes all of the major sites. You will stop for a quick break for lunch and your driver guide will be happy to give you suggestions based on your tastes and budget. You will continue on your tour after lunch visiting more city sites allowing you to have a comprehensive view of the Eternal City. You will be introduced to each site and given the history with your driver guide sharing the secrets of this magnificent city with you and then you will have time to explore on your own inside. At the end of your tour, your driver guide will take you back to your ship in Civitavecchia and you will feel confident that you will set sail with a day full of wonderful memories of Rome. You will be dropped off around 5:30 pm.
Additional Information To Note:
- Traveling time between the Port of Civitavecchia and Rome: Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes depending on traffic and day of the week.
- Pickup at the port by our driver guide, with comfortable air-conditioned Mercedes van, whom will meet you right at the exit of your ship bearing a sign with your name.
- As you are on a limited schedule we ask that you promptly respect the schedule given to you in order to maximize your day in Rome.
- Miles&Miles will be not responsible for any delays to start time of tours or arrival to the port caused by the client failing to show up for the scheduled meeting times.
- On this tour the cost for all services for the day will be paid direct to the driver guide at the end of the day.
- Admission tickets, lunches and gratuities are not included in the price of the tour.
- Please be prepared to show proof of age for children on the tour that are 17 and under whom qualify for the reduced fare ticket. Valid ID must be in the form of an official photo ID (or photocopy) such as a passport, student ID or driver`s license.
- Please note it is prohibited to bring backpacks, camping or other bulky bags or luggage / trollies into some of the venues. You are allowed to enter with medium and small size backpacks carried on a shoulder which must be checked by metal detectors and or opened and visually inspected by the Urbe Security Institute, responsible for the entrance inspection.
The itinerary of this tour includes the Colosseum just from the outside.

- Pre purchased tickets are not necessary. With your Miles&Miles driver guide you will have accelerated entrance. The admission costs are not included in the cost of the tour and will be paid upon entry as follows and as shown on pages 3 & 4 or our brochure.
