Tour Description:
Mangiare e bere (eat and drink) great food and wine, these are the key words of the day. When you have had your fill of history, take some time out to please your palate and see the refreshing countryside around Rome. This type of tour is perfect for those visitors who have already seen Rome and would like to do something different!
First, enjoy the 60-minute drive from the port in style and comfort as we head toward an amazing area of the region so close to Rome yet relatively unknown to tourism: The Castelli Romani region. It is popular amongst the locals for it’s great food, wine and charming little medieval villages. Prior to arriving to the area we can make a stop on the famous Via Appia at the ancient baths if you'd like.
Depending on the time of year and day of the week we can visit beautiful cellars, have panoramic vistas of vineyards and the hills of the area and visit a few small medieval villages. Our first stop is the breathtaking Lake Albano, the deepest lake in Lazio, formed by two ancient volcanic craters.

- The approximate length of the day is 9 hours.
- The optional wine tasting with a professional sommelier is available most days and the cost is typically 25E per person. If you would like more diversity in your tasting, depending on the types of wine and how many you would like to taste we can arrange for and expanded tasting for an additional cost. The cost of wine tastings are not included in the cost of the tour. Finger foods are included with the tasting. Please let us know if you would like to include this option in your day and for how many people so that we may reserve in advance for you.
