With our driver guides, all of whom speak excellent English available to you throughout the day, you will enjoy the panoramas throughout the countryside and about mid way through your travel you will stop in a destination and you can choose how you will spend your time with the assistance of the driver guide whom will give you general information about the area. Options vary depending on your route but usually you can choose from simple free time for site seeing or shopping, taking a short local tours on some routes, and of course time enough for lunch where you prefer. Your driver guide will be happy to give you the best suggestions for lunch depending on your personal tastes and budget.
This journey is arranged with about half of the time for travel and half for stopping. Tour Description:
Pompeii...The Forgotten City
Pompeii used to be a resort town in the South of Naples, located on the western coast of Italy. Many wealthy Romans had "country homes" there. On a fateful summer`s day in 79 AD, Mt Vesuvius erupted, spewing volcanic ash and lapilli (a small, lightweight pebbly material) over the village of Pompeii. At it`s largest, Pompeii had a population of approximately 20,000 people. Most people fled the eruption but an estimated 2000 people did not and died from toxic gasses or were buried in the eruption along with the city. The erruption that lasting for almost a full day, buried Pompeii under some 25 feet of volcanic material.
While Pompeii remained in the local`s memories, as time passed it`s location was lost. Rediscovered in the 1700`s the excavation was started, but not until the mid 1800`s was there meticulous recording of the discoveries. Amazingly preserved by the lapilli and ash, much information from Pompeii has been regained. Almost 2,000 years later, you will have the opportunity to explore the preserved ruins of this famous disaster.
We can easily substitute in Herculaneum or Sorrento if you have already been to Pompeii. We will assume that you would like the stop to be at Pompeii unless you tell us otherwise and you will have about 3.5hrs for your stop at Pompeii and lunch combined.
Depending on your tastes and budget your driver guide is happy to arrange lunch reservations if you like. We try to suggest local family run establishments such as enoteca's, small trattoria's or can even provide you a good suggestion for "panini" if that is more your style. You will be in Amalfi or Ravello by about 3:30pm depending on traffic encountered along the coast.
We will need to know your traveling cell phone number, hotel address and phone number, as well as how many are in your party and if you will have excessive amounts of luggage. This will help us accurately quote your service and send the correct size vehicle.
*If you are binging more than one medium to large bag and one small carry on per person please notify us so that we can assess what size of vehicle we will need to send you and this may affect the pricing.
Our driver will be waiting in your lobby with a sign that bears your name at the time that you scheduled.

Important to Note:
- If you need to be picked up from an airport for your transfer please let us know as we will need to add an airport pickup to your service. We will ask that you provide us the airport name, your flight number and arrival time. The same is true if you will be dropped off at an airport in your destination city.
- If you need to be picked up from a train station for your transfer please let us know as we will need to add a train station pickup to your service. We will ask that you provide us the station name, your train number and arrival time. The same is true if you will be dropped off at a train station in your destination city.
- The length of this service varies depending on the locations you are traveling to and from but additional hours can be added at an hourly rate based on the size of your group. Inquire for more details.
- For your stop during this transfer we can do Sorrento or Herculaneum instead of Pompeii if you'd like. Be sure to let us know so that we can arrange your day appropriately.
- The option to do this transfer direct is also available. In that case we will need to arrange your service as a Transfer Direct - Nonstop, One Way, so be sure to inform us if you prefer this option.
- Tickets to Pompeii are not included in the cost of the day.
- Headsets if required based on party size, admissions, lunches and gratuities are not included in the price of the tour.
Pompei Admission Information:
- Reserved tickets are not available but are to be paid upon entry.
