What You'll do in this tour
This walking tour is the best way to see Europe’s biggest medieval architectural complex. Founded by the Romans, it was in the Middle Ages when Barcelona came to its glory as a capital of the Crown of Aragon. Many of the architectural gems of that epoch can still be seen in the Gothic Quarter - the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia, the Royal Palace complex, churches of Santa Maria del Pi and Santa Maria del Mar, the City Hall and the Generalitat Palace, to name but a few.
But our walking tour is not only about history - we’ll introduce you to the daily life of Barcelona citizens, Catalan traditions and local culture. We’ll stop at world famous Boqueria food market to learn about Spanish and Catalan delicacies, and maybe will try some of them in a century-old tapas bar.
